Using Blogs and Forums for SEO and Branding

SEO Branding via Blogs

SEO has become the sword to the chest of advertising online. It has been very apparent over the last few years just how important good SEO articles and relevant content really are. They drive traffic to your site and increase your business. With the added weight of the blogging phenomenon, forums and RSS news feeds it is even more important to learn how to use the SEO style in your postings. There are more people out there reading blogs and blog replies than there are visiting your site. Nevertheless - it is official: SEO articles and blogging means big traffic.

There are plenty of factors to making a blog work for you but the primary one is content. You cannot just put stuff on the net and expect traffic and if it is off topic you can be kicked off of boards or banned from blogs. Instead, write something that is on topic and useful. Save your linking for your signature at the end of your post - make it an after thought.

More and more businesses are getting into the practice of adding pages to their web sites for no reason other than to catch the attention of search engine spiders. Google is one such engine that sends out feelers to see who has been updating on a regular basis and ranks partly based on that. This works and is therefore not a bad idea, but people who run forums and blogs may come to check you out and if they see this occurring are liable to kick you out for being a spammer.

Enter blogging. Add a blog to your site. It is always changing and updating and search engines find it and include it. You can keep your web site conversational and friendly without adding a lot of junk to it. Just because you write it, a blog does not guarantee you visitors. It is a bit like raising a dog from a puppy - it appears fun and takes a lot of time to get the hang of things, but in the long run it will become a loyal friend.

Your first step is to write daily. Constant blogging creates buzz and keeps you in the search engines all of the time. Write about whatever you feel like. It does not really matter if you write about your car, cat or the new flavour of Doritos you just tried ? just write! You can post these meanderings virtually anywhere as well but your site is the best place for it. Once you have written and posted it is time to start using blogging software like wordpress or blogger. You will want to use a software program to handle your blogging mainly because the software puts your blogs into proper formats for the best optimization from search engines.

Once you are getting on with your blogging it is time to look into SEO to be done correctly. Now is the time to add your so-called feeding tools. Those little plug-ins that make it all work! There are many to choose from of course but the favourite of many is using RSS feeds.
